1 Tour de Force

“My name is John Griffiths and I ride a bike.” Sounds like the opening line I should use at a self-help group – “Cyclists Anonymous” perhaps?

In a few short weeks I will be heading to France to take on my biggest cycling challenge yet – to cycle the first nine stages of the 2016 Tour de France, one week ahead of the professional tour. That’s over 1,100 miles from the top of the country to the bottom –  effectively a French version of John O’Groats to Land’s End. I hope to be able to post daily updates once I get underway on Saturday 25th June to record my progress, which will be dependent on technology and what energy I have left at the end of each day!

Until then I plan to post a series of blogs setting out the who, what and why of all this to put it all into context. If you choose to follow my adventures on this site, then I hope you enjoy the ride!
